Although I didn’t document this through, I went back into editing the artist’s book from the beginning of the month as my artist said the gallery in Shanghai allows her to sell her own book. My artist and I have been working on it together on and off throughout this period of time.
I find this part of the job relatively in my comfort zone as I specialise in graphics, and illustration and definitely have had experience in making zines and booklets. However, it is a new experience to be editing a book with over 150 pages and loads for more content. The images below show some of the pages in the book.

The process of editing this book is definitely time and energy-consuming, as we had to proofread, re-translate and rearrange the components multiple times. This definitely further developed my Indesign and editing skills. I also have to be very cautious with style, since the overall aim of the book is artistic but professional, along with many citations.
Finding a printing company is also an important part of this, where my boss and I had to contact and compare the quality and the prices of multiple companies. We had to print out a rough sample since we didn’t have enough time before the exhibition’s open day, where the sample is later left in the gallery and I didn’t get a photo of it. However, this sample is only the first edition as we need to change many small bits such as the fonts, putting in newly took images etc.
